As a recently launched tele-assist micro-mobility platform, Tortoise was accelerating their move from e-scooters to robotic delivery services amidst the turmoil of the Covid-19 pandemic. They approached D’Eramo Design for advanced concepts based on preliminary engineering specifications and business model propositions.

Through rounds of concept generation, CAD development, and detail refinement, we delivered visual assets in the form of 3D renderings and in-context scenario illustrations. Tortoise leveraged these assets to help forge valuable relationships with retailers and secure the financial investment necessary to move forward.

In early testing, the Tortoise team observed emergent user interactions with its delivery robots. They made the strategic decision to embrace these interactions and pivot, designing a fleet of robotic mobile vending machines.

As Tortoise pivoted, D’Eramo Design supported the team with the visualization and storytelling assets they needed to forge ahead and stay flexible.
